If you only have half a day to spare in Phu Quoc, a short speedboat or speedboat-and-island tour is the perfect way to see the island’s famous marine life without burning a whole day.
Because half-day tours are on a tighter clock, they almost exclusively head to the An Thoi Archipelago in the south, where the best coral reefs are clustered.
Here is what you need to know to pick the right option for your schedule.
Morning trip
08:00 AM – An air-conditioned shuttle van picks you up from your hotel. You will drive down the main island vein to An Thoi Harbor at the southern tip of Phu Quoc.
08:30 AM – Arrive at the bustling An Thoi Harbor. You will board a modern speedboat . The guide gives a brief safety overview, issues life jackets, and distributes sanitized masks and snorkels as the boat heads out into the open archipelago.
09:15 AM – 10h15 AM : First Dive at Kim Quy island (The Coral Jungle ) ,this is your primary underwater slot. The water here is shallow (1 to 3meters), allowing you to swim over massive tables of hard coral and brain coral.
10:45 AM – 11h45 AM : Second Dive at Buom Island (Fingernail Reef): A short 10-minute speedboat dash brings you to Buom Island. This spot features a steeper drop-off and is highly populated by schools of sergeant major fish, parrotfish, and small damsels. If you are a confident swimmer, you can skin-dive down a few meters to see soft leather corals swaying in the current.
12:00-13:00 – Beach Chill : Land on the white sands of May Rut Trong Island. Here, the crew sets up fruit platters and refreshments. You have an hour to swim in the calm turquoise shallows, order a fresh coconut from the local beach shack, or wait your turn for the fly-cam drone shots over the water .
13:30.Return to Harbor , transfer back to your hotel & Drop-off at around 14;15
Afternoon & Sunset trip
